DOOR PRIZES

Among the many great door prizes for this Gala Evening is an original painting,, entitled "Rice Planting Season #4" ( 25.5"x21.5"), donated by well known Toronto artist, Michael Emile.

At age 19, Michael Emile was apprenticed to the Art Department of B.G. Lithographic where he was taught packaging, label and logo design. Three years later, he took up a position at Guyana Graphic, designing advertisements for retail as well as national and international products.  He left after seven years to work at ACE Advertisers, where he spent two years, before immigrating to Canada in 1969.  His working years in Canada were spent designing and painting large outdoor posters, designing and doing full size drawings for large neon signs in Toronto as well as other cities across Canada and the United States.  Michael painted on week-ends during his time as a commercial artist and, since his retirement, has been painting full-time.
